Welcome back to another exciting week of the (unofficial) 2015 WFTDA Playoff Rankings. It was a rather slow week with only 10 sanctioned bouts according to FTS, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t see a little movement in the rankings. The only movement in the Top 40 was Detroit using their thrashings over Killamazoo and Grand Raggidy to overtake Santa Cruz for #27. (Note: After doing my complete audit of the 60 playoff teams i noticed that i originally had credited Santa Cruz with a 1.35 modifier for all of their playoff bouts, that has been fixed and they are now slotted correctly at #28). On the flip side of those results, Killamazoo and Grand Raggidy both fell out of the Top 60. There is plenty of time left in the season to get back into the D2 Playoff spots, but both will have some work to do.
We do welcome Blue Ridge back into the Top 60 after their incredibly rough D1 Playoffs. They have a long way to get back to D1 (their average is currently 87 points below 40th place), but it all starts with one bout and taking 290.90 points from their victory against Dutchland is a start. We do welcome Rage City to the Top 100 this week and also need to mention the rise of San Ferndando all the way up #77. There must be something in that California water as they are just loaded with quality teams (note: the rankings do not even include Sacred City or Sac City as neither of them have had a 2015 qualifying bout yet). Stay tuned as next week I will release not only the Week 16 rankings, but show how removing the playoff modifier would affect the entire Top 100.

Note to teams: Don’t play teams that will blow you out! (This is easier said than done.)

Being from California I can tell you what it is. Many of banked track’s best and most experienced skaters have moved to flat track leagues. That goes for Arizona too. Why you may ask? Boredom! There are only about 4 decent banked track leagues, and the moving skaters want to play more and different leagues and not the same people over and over again with the same result.
